By God's grace and the empowering of the Holy Spirit, St.
Timothy's Anglican Bible Church seeks to obey Christ's commands to be His
witnesses locally and globally (Acts 1:8), to care for the hungry, the
stranger, the sick and the imprisoned (Mt. 25:31-46) and to do good unto
all people, especially the household of faith (Gal. 6:10).
We are currently supporting the following endeavours:

PRAISE IN THE PARLOUR
"Praise in the Parlour" has been sharing the
Gospel for over 17 years on Montreal's West Island, as a joint ministry of
Christians from various church denominations, including St Timothy's. The
group has evolved from offering outreach concerts and witnessing in a
neighbourhood park as "Praise in the Park". For many years it
shared the Gospel at Christmas and Easter in word and song at two local
shopping centers as "Praise in the Plaza". For the last ten years
the group has been sharing four bilingual Gospel programs
(Thanksgiving, Christmas, Love and Easter) through Bible readings,
singing and personal witness with residents and patients at various
seniors' residences and palliative care centres during the Christmas,
Easter & Thanksgiving seasons. Some twenty "Parlour" visits
have been planned for 2011.
The "Praise" team welcomes new
members to sing, read, or just share time with the residents and patients.
Youth Unlimited's La Corde Centre

Summer Day Camp Program
Annually St. Timothy's Anglican Bible Church hosts a
week-long daytime program for children aged 4 to 12 aimed at presenting the
Gospel to children in a fun, dynamic and interactive way. The program
relies on games, song, prayer, skits, crafts, devotional time and various
other activities to convey the message of the Gospel. Each year a specific
theme is selected and all of the activities revolve around that theme. The
day camp is open to all children regardless of their religious affiliation
or knowledge of God. Children are provided with an opportunity to accept
Christ into their life if they so choose. Snacks are served twice a day and
children bring their own lunch. A dedicated team of older youth and adults
volunteer to make the camp a success. The programme ends with the
components of the program integrated into a closing service generally held
on the Sunday following the day camp. This service is open to all attendees
and their families and features the crafts, dance, song and prayers that
the children learned during the week.
THE GIDEONS

community.

Christmas Baskets
While much of the West Island of Montreal is affluent,
there are the poor here also. In St. Timothy's municipality of Pierrefonds
and in surrounding municipalities, local food banks are kept busy trying to
meet the needs of poverty-stricken families in the area. During the season
of Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, St.
Timothy's follows the old church tradition of taking food to the poor so
they too can celebrate. In this spirit, in 2009 and again in 2010 we
mounted a large effort in collaboration with Emmanuel Christian School
(where we meet on Sundays) to provide 50 local families with enough food
for about two weeks. Not exactly a Christmas "basket" (more like
boxes and boxes per family), the mood was joyful and festive as we
purchased the substantial amounts of food, packed them while singing
Christmas Carols, and delivered them to the door of the needy families. Our
joy in giving in the name of Jesus Christ was met by their appreciation.
This is one way in which St. Timothy's can respond to the command of our Lord
and Saviour to meet the needs of our local community.

Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child began in 1990 after a Welsh
couple watched a broadcast about Romanian orphanages and decided to act.
Nine trucks of medical supplies, food, clothing, and Christmas gifts were
driven into Romania. In 1993, Samaritan's Purse International, a
nondenominational evangelical aid organization, adopted Operation Christmas
Child as a project. Samaritan's Purse Canada was established in 1973 and
works in about 70 countries around the world. Last season, 640,569 shoe
boxes were collected in Canada and distributed in over 15 countries. When
culturally appropriate, children are also offered "The Greatest Gift
of All," an illustrated storybook in their language explaining how God
sent Jesus. Children can learn more about having a personal relationship
with Jesus through a voluntary discipleship program. Parishioners at St.
Timothy's contributed 54 boxes in 2010.
